Volvo returns as sponsor for Family Pride Coalition's Family Week in Provincetown

The Family Pride Coalition is proud to announce that Volvo Cars of North America, LLC will once again be a Presenting Sponsor of Family Week in Provincetown. This marks the third year that Volvo has generously supported the Family Pride Coalition as a corporate sponsor.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Family Week in Provincetown. The gathering, which attracts hundreds of families from all over the United States and abroad, will take place July 30-Aug. 5, 2005. "I am so pleased to have Volvo returning as a corporate sponsor of Family Week for the third year," said Jennifer Chrisler, executive director of the Family Pride Coalition. "Volvo understands and values the unique contributions LGBT-headed families make, and their corporate generosity and support is deeply appreciated. We are grateful and honored to have them as partners, and look forward to continuing our work together to support and protect our families."

Also, Volvo will once again be offering members of the Family Pride Coalition a $500 discount on the purchase or lease of any new Volvo (in addition to all other incentives). The corporate sales program may be accessed from the Family Pride homepage at www.familypride.org .

Family Week activities include workshops and social activities for parents and their children. The Family Pride Coalition has again invited COLAGE (Children of Lesbians and Gays Everywhere) to offer social and educational programming for youth nine years and older. Some of the additional adventures include whale-watching tours, barbecues, beach parties, a family parade and a family dance. Advance registration for both events is $150 per family. "It's been 20 years since I picked up a paint brush, but somehow I was inspired to create a collection of cartoon-like paintings based upon my latest book entitled Empress. Empress is a Sapphic novel about two powerful women who fall in love in ancient Rome and change the ways of the Roman government. The story goes beyond lesbians in love. It is very much symbolic of the present fight for gay rights and gay marriage as well as the continuous fight for religious freedom and racial equality. The collection of paintings is entitled The Empress Collection and will be displayed during Pride...Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder, art is in mind of the believer. You will find my art to be colorful, powerful, playful and spiritual, with a touch of innocence. The combination of power and innocence is very rare, and very special. If you can understand my vision, then you will eventually know that I am what I have created...But enough about that...Get ready for Pride in 2005...I'll see you there..."
